5 Tips to Reset Your Digestion System

Have you been living your #bestlife ? Today, we are talking about Natural Solutions for Digestive Health and the top 5 tips to reset your digestive system.

When I begin to dive deeper into a lot of my clients health issues, the number 1 thing we always end up talking about is their digestive system. It is the core of so many functional aspects of your life. From the #foodchoices you make, to producing #melatonin to sleep, to being the axis of your #immunesystem, your digestive system is so vital.

“For years I thought my gut health had absolutely nothing to do with my general well being.”

Here are my top 5 Tips to Reset and Restore your Digestive Health

1.Let me take you back to childhood. Do you remember the saying "you are what you eat"? Turns out, it was NOT just something your mom made up to prevent you from eating dirt. (#youarewhatyoueat #parenting #momsadvice). Our #soil is severely depleted of vital nutrients and minerals so even if you are Natalie Nutrition with the best diet possible, there is still a chance you need to #supplement.

Enter whole food supplements & #vitamins. What is the difference you ask between whole food supplements and the rest? Synthetic vitamins are made from chemicals to mimic the natural way your body absorbs nutrients from food. Synthetic vitamins are difficult for your body to absorb and can even cause health issues. Whole food vitamins condense and concentrate the fruits and vegetables to make natural vitamins for your body. We use doTERRA's Lifelong Vitality and MetaPWR system, it provides energy and sustainability and is sustainably sourced with the most effective ingredients. 2. Start with Water DAILY. Keeping a glass of water by your bedside overnight will lead you to be more conscious of the decision to drink it as soon as you rise. Room temperature water improves digestion and jumpstarts your immune system. At the axis of what you put in your body, water is key not only for survival but for your cells. Drinking water can prevent dehydration, a condition that can cause unclear thinking, result in #moodchange, cause your body to overheat, and lead to constipation and kidney stones. Find yourself a great water bottle that has a lid so you can have the habit of filling it nightly.

3. Cut back on Processed Sugar- Beginning in October of 2022, I decided to cut out processed sugar, alcohol and flour. It served me so well, I have kept it up since then. I have less inflammation, my gut health is improving and my waistline is decreasing. My constant craving for sugar was spiking my #bloodsugar levels at all hours of the day and I had become pre-diabetic.

Along with my need for health reasons to cut out sugar, the idea of cutting out sugar was only possible because of the whole food supplements and dietary system mentioned in number 1. It was not as difficult as I thought, as I was in a romantic relationship with Reese's for YEARS and am happy to say we are now divorced. 🤣

4. Try Scheduling your Meals with #Consistency. If you tend to be a snacker, schedule healthy snacks such as peppers, cucumbers or an apple or other veggies high in fiber leading to less need for snacking. Schedule your biggest meal first thing in the morning to jumpstart your #metabolism and provide #sustainable energy.

Consistent meal timings & eating at regular intervals also provides your body with a sense of stability that “food will be on its way” leading your body to use this food as fuel instead of storing food incase you skip your meal.

5. RELAX- granted, in the history of the world, no one has ever ACTUALLY #relaxed when told to relax. However, there are a tremendous amount of gut benefits by simply retreating, focusing and meditating. When you are stressed, it leads to inflammation, disease and so many other healthy problems.

So, give these few ideas a try first.

a. Box breathing - Exhale all the air from your lungs, #Breath in from your nose for 4 seconds, hold your breathe for 4 seconds and exhale for 4 seconds.
